Cookie Policy
Which cookies MyFinn uses, why, and why there is no consent banner

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. On each subsequent visit the browser sends them back, which lets the site "recognise" you — for example, to know that you are logged in and not ask for your password again on every page.
Besides cookies, the platform also uses the browser's local storage (localStorage). The difference matters: local storage is never sent to the server — it stays only on your device.
This policy forms an integral part of the Privacy Policy and applies together with it.
In short
We use: cookies necessary for logging in and for security, and cookies that remember your interface preferences.
We do not use: Google Analytics, the Facebook Pixel, ad networks, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics or marketing cookie.
That is also why there is no consent banner — for the cookies we use, the law does not require consent. Explained below.

The remember_web_… cookie contains a technical identifier in its name, so the exact name differs between installations.

You can delete these entries at any time through your browser settings (clearing site data).
The travel-expenses page also uses a service worker — a technique that lets it work without an internet connection. Entered data is held on the device and sent once the connection is restored.
Third-party cookies
The platform sets no third-party cookies.
The only external connection the page opens is to fonts.bunny.net, a service that delivers the fonts the text is set in. It was chosen deliberately over more widespread alternatives: it sets no cookies and keeps no visitor logs, and its servers are in the European Union. When a font is fetched, your IP address is technically visible to that service, as it is whenever any internet address is opened.
We embed no content from other sites (videos, maps, social media buttons) that would set cookies of their own.
Why there is no consent banner
Under the Law on Electronic Communications and the Law on Personal Data Protection, consent for storing information on your device is not required where the storage is:
- necessary for transmitting a communication, or
- necessary for providing a service that the user has explicitly requested.
All of the cookies listed above fall into the second group: without them, logging in, security, and the interface preferences you chose yourself would not work. We have no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies — and it is precisely those that require prior consent.
That is why we do not show you a banner that would change nothing. If we ever introduce a cookie that does require consent, we will ask for it before setting that cookie, and this policy will be amended accordingly.
How to control cookies
Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies. The settings are usually under Privacy and security:
- Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Important: if you block the strictly necessary cookies for this site, logging into MyFinn will not work — the system will be unable to maintain your session. Blocking the mf_nav cookie does not break anything; it simply means the menu layout will not be remembered.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies used by the platform change, or when the rules governing them change. Each new version is published on this page with the date it takes effect.
